Bludit is a web application to build your own website or blog in seconds; it’s completely free and open source. Bludit is a Flat-File CMS, which means that Bludit uses files in the JSON format to store the content. You don’t need to install or configure a database; you only need a web server with PHP support.

If you are looking for a simple flat file CMS for slim websites and blogs, you should try Bludit. The small open source system works without complicated overloaded features and does exactly what you would expect: Authors are offered a user-friendly interface by Bludit and developers are happy about a simple theming and an amazing flexibility in the background.

Bludit is extremely easy to use for authors and largely self-explanatory. From a very easy installation to a user-friendly authoring and administration interface, which corresponds to normal authoring expectations and completely dispenses with special features. This makes tedious explanations and even extensive documentation largely superfluous.

Bludit also has some features for more demanding authors: In addition to draft management and a configurable auto-saving, articles can also be published with a time delay. Another useful feature of Bludit is modular content, so one-pagers can be implemented in a comparatively author-friendly way. With all this, the design of the authoring interface is kept visually so simple that even inexperienced authors should be able to cope with it without any problems.

The additional options for administrators are surprisingly broad, ranging from simple settings such as website title and language settings to fine-grained settings of the URL structure or SEO settings such as the title structure of pages. With a user management, a tag management as well as numerous plugins and themes, Bludit is a complete and compact CMS that offers authors and developers all the necessary tools for running standard websites, portfolios, blogs or one-pagers.
